Chris Bosh came to Miami as part of the Big 3 “superteam” that was formed in the summer of 2010 when Chris Bosh, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade teamed up in South Beach. Bosh left behind a very productive tenure in Toronto (10,000+ points in seven seasons), leaving the Raptors to enter a rebuilding process. While indeed a Big 3, Bosh was typically viewed as the third piece, asked to sacrifice and modify his role somewhat to accommodate the offense that was very much built around James and Wade. The result, of course, was two NBA Championships amidst four straight runs to the NBA Finals.
While possibly leaving Miami (rumored to head to Houston), Bosh was resigned by Miami in the summer of 2014 once it became known that Lebron James would be leaving Miami. Unfortunately, Bosh would only play another 97 NBA games. During the 2014-15 season, Bosh was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lungs. After a few attempts to return, Bosh finally announced his retirement in 2019. Miami retired Chris Bosh’s no. 1 jersey on March 26, 2019.
