A member of the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame, Darrell Armstrong lives on in fans hearts since the late 1990s and early 2000s. While still reeling from the quick end to the Shaq & Penny era, Darrell Armstrong helped the fledgling Magic team find an identity, rooted in “Heart & Hustle.” Armstrong’s start came as the last member of the bench on the 1995 Finals team, but in 1998-99, Armstrong won both the Most Improved Player Award and the Sixth Man Award in the NBA. The “Heart & Hustle” team refers to the 1999-2000 squad in which an obviously not star-studded cast of Armstrong, Bo Outlaw and Pat Garrity brought the team back from an early 8-game losing streak to a 41-41 record just missing the playoffs.
