Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin ignited a new era of Clippers basketball with his electrifying play. Drafted first overall in 2009, Griffin missed his rookie season due to injury but stormed onto the scene in 2010–11, winning Rookie of the Year and redefining the power forward position with his combination of athleticism, strength, and flair. His explosive dunks — many delivered via alley-oops from Chris Paul — became the signature of the “Lob City” era. Beyond highlights, Griffin developed into a versatile scorer and improved passer, expanding his game to include perimeter shooting later in his Clippers tenure. From 2011 to 2017, he was the team’s centerpiece, earning multiple All-Star nods and helping guide the Clippers to consistent playoff appearances. While injuries eventually slowed him, Griffin’s impact on the franchise was immense. He made the Clippers nationally relevant, energized their fan base, and left an enduring legacy as one of the team’s most important stars.
