LeBron James

The King's Big Three Era
4x All-Star
3x MVP
4x First Team All-NBA
2x NBA FInals MVP
2x NBA Champion

It started with “The Decision” in which LeBron James told a live national TV audience that he was “taking his talents to south beach,” and it initiated the big 3 era in Miami in which LeBron James and Chris Bosh teamed up with Dwayne Wade to dominate the league. The Ringer ranked “The Decision” as the 22nd best sports moment of the last quarter century, noting:

James didn’t just change teams. He bent the entire NBA apparatus to his will, controlling every aspect of his free agency and orchestrating a team-up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat. In doing so, he established a blueprint that would take Kevin Durant out of Oklahoma City, Kawhi Leonard out of San Antonio, and Anthony Davis out of New Orleans. In the “player empowerment era,” stars exercise more control than ever before—and often more than their own teams. Even our consumption of the league has changed, as the NBA became more player-centric and variable from year-to-year. Of course, the Decision transformed more than just basketball. It scrambled the established world order throughout sports.

It took a minute to find their flow, but the Miami Heat during 2010-2014 was must watch basketball, and dare we say, it was Lebron’s “villain” era? Lebron and friends took tremendous heat in the aftermath of the formation of this team, but it didn’t prevent the Heat from competing in the NBA Finals four straight years, bringing home the championship in two of them.

Perhaps one of the most exciting moments from the season was the 27-game win streak during the 2012-13 which still remains the NBA’s third-longest win streak ever.

Lebron James also scored his most points in a game ever while a member of the Miami Heat. On March 3, 2014, Lebron scored 61 points against Charlotte.
