Austin Reaves, born on May 29, 1998, in Newark, Arkansas, is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. Standing 6’5″ and weighing 197 pounds, he plays as a shooting guard.
Reaves began his collegiate career at Wichita State University before transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where he showcased his scoring ability and versatility. Despite going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, he signed a two-way contract with the Lakers on August 3, 2021, which was converted to a standard NBA contract by September 27, 2021.
In his rookie season, Reaves made an immediate impact, notably scoring 15 points and hitting a game-winning three-pointer against the Dallas Mavericks on December 15, 2021. He concluded the season with a triple-double—31 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists—against the Denver Nuggets on April 10, 2022.
During the 2024-2025 season, Reaves has been a key contributor for the Lakers, averaging 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
