Nikola Vucevic

Dwight's replacement who became a Orlando favorite.
2x All-Star

Though he came to Orlando as an unknown as part of a multi-team, multi-piece trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Los Angelos Lakers in August of 2012, Nikola Vucevic became one of the most productive players in Orlando Magic history. Vucevic’s growth as a player is the primary reason why many NBA pundits consider Orlando the unlikely winner of “the Dwight trade.”

With nearly 600 regular season games between 2012 and 2020 averaging 17.6 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game, “Vooch” was the consummate professional during some bleak Orlando Magic seasons. His steady performance and drama-free demeanor made him a fan favorite. Vucevic’s 10,423 career points with the Magic (regular season) is third all-time in franchise history behind Dwight Howard and Nick Anderson. Other career, regular season statistical categories include:

  • Games Played: 591 (4th)
  • Points: 10,423 (3rd)
  • Rebounds: 6,381 (2nd)
  • Blocks: 550 (3rd)

Nikola Vucevic still holds the record for most rebounds in a single game in Orlando Magic history with 29 rebounds against the Miami Heat on December 31, 2012.

Vooch served the Magic well for years, and he served the Magic well even in the trade that sent him away from Orlando. As part of the trade with Chicago Bulls, the Orlando Magic received multiple pieces including the draft pick that led to Franz Wagner.
