Rolando Blackman

Rolando Blackman is one of the most beloved Mavericks of the 1980s, remembered for his consistency, professionalism, and smooth mid-range jumper. Drafted in 1981, the shooting guard spent 11 seasons in Dallas, becoming a four-time All-Star and a franchise leader in points until Dirk surpassed him decades later. Blackman was a stabilizing force during the Mavericks’ rise to respectability, helping guide the team to several playoff appearances, including the 1988 Western Conference Finals. Known for his clutch scoring and defensive intensity, he embodied reliability night after night. Blackman also represented Dallas in the 1987 All-Star Game, where his memorable late-game performance nearly lifted the West to victory.
